Supported files & limits
Accepted file types, size limits, and how images are handled.
Accepted file types
- Word (
.doc,.docx) - PowerPoint (
.ppt,.pptx) - Excel (
.xls,.xlsx) - HTML
- Plain text (
.txt) and Markdown (.md) - CSV
- JSON
- Images (
.png,.jpg/.jpeg) — text is extracted via OCR automatically
Limits
- Up to 20 MB per file.
- Multiple files can be uploaded in a single batch by drag-and-drop or the file picker.
Images and figures
Images uploaded on their own (or extracted from inside a PDF) become first-class retrievable content — the agent can surface a relevant image back to a customer as part of its answer on channels that support sending images (Telegram and WhatsApp), not just use them as text context.
PII detection
If a source contains detectable personal information (emails, credit card numbers, SSNs, phone numbers), the Knowledge table flags it with a warning badge and a count by type after ingestion finishes. This is a heads-up, not a block — review flagged sources if you didn't intend to include personal data in what the agent can retrieve and potentially surface in an answer.
If a file fails to ingest
Failed sources show an error status in the table. Open the source and use Reindex/Retry, or use the tab-level Retry all failed button if several sources errored at once (for example after a transient outage).
